We’ll Be Okay Too

As the world is slowly adjusting to the new normal amidst the pandemic, there are still some people who aren’t at ease. There are also others who are feeling a bit hopeful but we can all agree that times have changed. Most of us are working from home, others are still out there risking their lives to survive, save, and protect while some, completely jobless.

So much has already happened to the world but have we ever asked ourselves, or maybe others, this question?

“Are you okay?”

“Will I be okay?”

It’s a question everybody seems to answer with a simple, “Yeah”, but truth be told, we aren’t. None of us are. Because in the first place, we never wanted to be in this situation. It calls for it but here we are, trying to cope up with the new normal despite being physically and mentally drained. It’s taking a toll on us and let me tell you something:

You are not alone.

It may sound like something out of a sci-fi movie but kidding aside, you really aren’t. You may be struggling internally but there will always be people who are willing to listen to you. You don’t need a lot of people to validate your emotions for you just because you don’t trust yourself. You just need a few friends who will truly listen to you anytime of the day. If it can’t be them, reach out to your family via social media apps or better yet, call them. This pandemic is nothing when you feel at ease knowing that someone will listen.

Allow yourself to feel your emotions otherwise, you’ll succumb to this false notion that you will always be okay. Don’t forget to thank yourself for the little things and don’t forget to thank others as well. The new normal kept us away from physically interacting with our friends and loved ones but like they say,

“If there’s a will, there’s a way.”

It’s okay to cry and feel down for now but know that you can rise up from this someday. Slowly but surely, you’ll be able to do what you’re supposed to do and be the person you’re meant to be. We are in this together and we will come back strong.

To the ones who are tirelessly working for our safety and protection,

Thank you.

It will never be enough but we hope, even through this small act of kindness, may you remain strong-willed.

To the ones who are tirelessly working for our needs,

Thank you.

We know how everyone is trying to survive these days but know that we are with you and acknowledge you.

To the ones who are constantly volunteering to help,

Thank you.

You don’t know how much your compassion has impacted a lot of lives during these times.

And to you reading this,

Thank you.

Keep on fighting and know that you are worthy and loved.

Always remember that.
